The beginning
Brunei Youth Network in Japan (BYNJ) was initially formed to represent Bruneian students in the ASEAN Youth Network in Japan (AYNJ).
AYNJ was established in 2007, and it is basically a network where ASEAN youth and students get together and get involved in cultural, sports and academic activities. Throughout the years, Bruneian students in Tokyo have been actively involved through AYNJ activities in promoting Brunei culture as well as nurturing friendship with youth and students from other ASEAN countries.
Other than informal gatherings and outings, BYNJ was just a name.
With the increasing number of Bruneian youth residing in Japan, it was time to get together. Therefore, this new temporary blog and BYNJ base (HQ) was formed in May 2010, to nurture friendship, cooperation and exchange knowledge between Bruneian youth.
Objectives
- Facilitate Bruneians’ cooperation and strengthen relationships between Bruneian youth, especially students in Japan.
- Share and exchange useful information especially among Bruneian youth.
Future goal
To organize BYNJ own big event, e.g. seminar or event in collaboration with Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Japan (like Brunei Charity day).
